DR  KERRI  MOONEY

Dr Kerri Mooney is a New Zealand trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.  She provides a modern approach to patient care. Backed by global experience in some of the most prestigious clinics and hospitals, Dr Mooney applies the highest standards in supporting patients through their experience.  

Dr Mooney has over a decade of experience in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  She has specialist expertise in Aesthetic and Breast surgery having completed a North American fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada in both breast and aesthetic surgery.  Here, she has performed cosmetic surgery including facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty and aesthetic breast and body procedures. At the University, Dr Mooney was introduced to internationally cutting edge plastic surgery techniques from Aesthetic Surgeons who are global leaders in their field.

 

Dr Mooney has expertise and extensive experience in skin cancer (including melanoma) and breast reconstruction having completed a prestigious fellowship at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. This impressive hospital treats a huge number of complex cancer patients. The plastic surgery department, along with Dr Mooney, are involved with both the surgical removal of the cancer and the intricate reconstruction areas involved.

 

Dr Mooney was awarded an Entrance Exhibition Scholarship to Trinity College Dublin, Ireland's oldest and most selective medical school, where she completed both a Bachelor of Arts and a Medical Degree (with Honours). She was bestowed the

Erasmus Scholarship by the European Union to study medicine through French at the oldest Medical University in the world – Montpellier University, France. She has also completed a Surgical Anatomy Diploma at Otago University (with Distinction).

Dr Mooney is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons having completed her Plastic Surgery specialisation in New Zealand. Dr Mooney has worked in the Plastic Surgery Departments at Christchurch Public Hospital, Hutt Hospital, Middlemore Hospital and the New Zealand National Burns unit. She has previously done outreach plastic surgery clinics and operative lists at both Nelson Hospital and Hawkes Bay Hospital.  Dr Mooney has been  involved in charity hospital work at Livingstone Hospital, Zambia.

Dr Mooney is based at Dudley Creek Health, a stunning new purpose-built specialist centre in Christchurch's Health Hub on Papanui Road, near St Georges Hospital. She focuses solely on private practice and can offer operations at St George’s Hospital, Southern Cross Hospital and Forté Health.

Dr Mooney believes in precise, safe and personalised care. She puts her patients' needs above everything else.  She recognises that there is no compromise when it comes to surgery. The key to success is careful planning, good

communication, expert technical skills and premium after-care.
